I went back to law school in my 30s after a stint as an administrator at a small college. I wanted to come back home to southern New Jersey and attend Rutgers University.
As I prepared to graduate in the spring of 2008, I had a nice big law job offer lined up. Then the unthinkable happened. The economy crashed, the firm broke up, and I was a few months from graduating with no prospects.
I scraped together some money and rented a room in the Pagliuso Building in Medford, and looked around to see what I could do. The office was close to my house in Shamong or, as I prefer to call it by its historical name, Indian Mills.
I quickly learned that people all over southern New Jersey were losing their homes through sheriff’s sales and foreclosures. It was then I discovered an option that few people knew about, something called a short sale. Soon after, I had more work than I knew what to do with.
One of the things that bothers me most about the law is when people lose their assets, real estate and personal, because they did not get good advice.
I would read the Atlantic City Press, Vineland Daily Journal, and Burlington County Times. Every notice for foreclosure actions or sheriff’s sales would get under my collar. I knew that many of those people could have been saved before they lost their homes. I could help them avoid foreclosure and bankruptcies, helping them rebuild their financial lives quicker and with less stress.
That is why I do what I do. I love helping people in Atlantic County, Cumberland County, Cape May County, Burlington County, and Ocean County. The towns I have done most of my work have been Atlantic City, Margate, Longport, Ocean City, Egg Harbor Township, Galloway Township, Port Republic, Long Beach Island, Little Egg Harbor Township, Surf City, Loveladies, Hammonton, Medford, Shamong, Tabernacle Township, and Mount Laurel.
Give me a call if you need some help getting from where you are to where you want to be, or you need to hit the real estate reset button.
